To keep our community informed and be as open with  parents, guardians and our community as possible, the  Palo Verde Unified School District is notifying you that we are investigating a reported threat against our schools. Blythe Police and the FBI are working closely with us to investigate this threat and have not found any evidence that the threat is credible.
Blythe Police Department was contacted  this morning by District leadership who reported receiving a vague email threat. The message in the email implied the sender was upset and threatened to blow up a school and shoot students. The sender did not name the school nor did the sender state what day this would occur. The sender did not mention that the school was part of the Palo Verde Unified School District. Other school districts in the county also received a similar threat.  Blythe PD will be increased police patrolling at our schools. As always, please encourage anyone on campus to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious behavior to the proper authorities.  Please call the Blythe Police Department dispatch center if you have information about possible threats at 760-922-6111, option 5.
We will keep you informed of any changes to this situation.
