HOW DO I APPLY FOR FREE OR REDUCED PRICE MEALS?

Complete and return a meal application to your school or the Nutrition Services Department.  Your application will be processed according to the USDA guidelines, using the most current scale of family size and income.  You will be mailed a letter indicating whether the application for free meals or reduced meals was approved or denied.  Be sure to read the letter carefully for the eligibility and student’s names. Your application may be returned if additional information is required.

We are pleased to inform you that the following sites will be implementing a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for 2018-2019 School Year:
Felix J. Appleby Elementary
Margaret White Elementary
Ruth Brown Elementary
Twin Palms High School
Schools that participate in the CEP are able to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at NO CHARGE for all students enrolled in that CEP school during the 2018-2019 School Year.
Palo Verde High School will not be participating in the CEP, applications will need to be filled out for students attending Palo Verde High School. Please make sure to list all household members including students that attend other schools that do participate in CEP. Last year’s eligibility is effective until September 24, 2018.  If you do not have an approved meal application on file as of that date, your student will need to pay full-price for school meals. Applications will be sent home with every student and are available through the schools and the District Office.  Only one application is needed per family.
