Yellow Jacket 5k

The Palo Verde High School Associated Student Body and Blythe Area Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the Yellow Jacket 5K Run/Walk on March 9. The goal of the day is to bring awareness to the many clubs and cultures present at Palo Verde High School, promote a healthy lifestyle, and provide the residents of Blythe an opportunity to interact.

Pre-registration forms are available at the Palo Verde High School office, the Blythe Area Chamber of Commerce, the Joe Wine Blythe Recreation Center, Halby’s and Yellow Mart. The pre-registration fee is $20 for all adults, $10 for any Palo Verde Unified School District student and anyone age 55 and older, and is due to the high school office by 3:30 p.m. on March 8. On-site registration will be available from 7-7:30 p.m. with the cost of $30 for all participants.

The race will start at the PVHS parking lot at 8 a.m. All participants will travel north on Lovekin Blvd. to 10th Ave. The course will continue on 10th Ave. to Elhers Blvd. heading south to Chanslorway. The course will continue on Chanslorway to Lovekin Blvd. and will end on the track of Scott Stadium. Palo Verde High School ASB hopes to make this run/walk and annual event and add it to the many great traditions of being a Yellow Jacket.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention Juniors: It’s time to register for the PSAT. The test will be given here at PV on October 15th. Cost of the test is $14, and a limited number of fee waivers are available. Bring your money to Maribel, and then take your receipt to Liz to finish your registration. This is an important test, as it gives you a glimpse of what the SAT is like. If you do well, you could also qualify for a National Merit Scholarship. See Mrs. Bayles with questions. We have 110 tests….make sure you are one of the takers! Seniors: Today is the last day to make an appointment for your Lifetouch Prestige portraits next Monday and Tuesday. They'll take walk ins, but space and time are limited. Pictures are from 3pm to 8pm in the library. (P. Johnson 9/19)

Attention students: The cafeteria is happy to announce that we are now selling frozen yogurt inside the high school cafeteria. Lunch lines are still cashless, so please make sure you have money on your account. We will not take cash at lunch. You can come in the morning to make a deposit or drop it in the deposit box in the office. We are also proud to announce the opening of the Snack shack on Monday September 15th for snack break and lunch. The snack break will only be at the snack shack, but lunch will be available at both the cafeteria and at the snack shack. The snack shack will have all breakfast items available and lunch will only have three entree's available with one of them being a daily special. You can still get all our lunch entree's in the cafeteria. We will not take money at the snack shack, so please make sure you have available funds in your account. Class of 2015 - Did you miss the summer photo session with Lifetouch?! Well good news! Lifetouch will be on campus September 22nd and 23rd from 3pm to 8pm for retakes and make ups. Remember, in order to be included in the senior section of the 100th edition of the Echo yearbook, your photo must be taken by Lifetouch.
