Welcome to the 15-16 School Year
Yellow Jacket Family,
The summer is ending and we are in full swing for school to begin. As you prepare to return to PVHS on August 19th, please remember that high school is what you make of it. Your attitude and involvement are the greatest factors in determining what your experience will be as a Yellow Jacket. There are many opportunities to become involved with campus life and we encourage each of you take full advantage of those opportunities. High school is a magnificent time to begin practicing life skills for the adult world. This includes dressing appropriately for the occasion (school) and using language that appropriate for an educational setting (no profanity). While we recognize that our students are young adults in training and may make mistakes taking ownership for those mistakes is a display of good character that we are working to instill in all.
Once again, students in grades 9-11 must maintain a 2.0 GPA to receive an off campus lunch pass. Grades are checked each quarter and new lunch passes are issued with those grading periods. The lunch pass is a special sticker on the student’s school ID card. It is the responsibility of the student to keep his/her lunch pass current.
Basic supplies for the school year include a backpack/book bag, 3 ring binder with dividers for all classes, composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, pencils, highlighters and ink pens (red, blue, black and green).
We are always looking for parent/community volunteers to serve on committees, help teachers with bulletin boards in the classroom and answer phones and file in the office. If you have time and are interested in any of this please contact the PVHS office before Back to School Night which be September 2.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of PVHS we are look forward to working with you for the 2015-16 school year.
See you soon!
