January Student of the Month

Margaret White Elementary School sixth grader Alycia Magadan, was selected as January’s Palo Verde Unified School District Elementary Student of the Month.
Linda May, Magadan’s teacher, described the sixth grader as “one of the hardest working students she has ever taught.”

“Alycia also demonstrates strong personal integrity and treats everyone around her with respect and kindness,” said May.

Outside of school, Magadan busies herself by doing homework and playing sports. Recently, Magadan played with the boys on a local flag football team through Joe Wine Blythe Recreation Center and looked forward to the start of the soccer season.

After graduation from high school, Magadan plans to attend Palo Verde Community College for two years before transferring to a four-year university. And while education and sports are important to Magadan, her family is the most important.

She enjoys spending time with her sisters and brother.

“With all these wonderful attributes, I am sure we will hear more about Alicia’s success as she works her way through Palo Verde Unified schools,” said Dr. Chris Nugent, Margaret White principal.
