BLYTHE MCDONALD’S® TO OFFER FREE BREAKFAST TO
2ND – 8TH GRADE STUDENTS – April 7 & 8
BLYTHE, Calif. – April 1, 2014 – Blythe McDonald’s restaurant is inviting 2nd – 8th grade students taking Standardized Test and Reporting (STAR) to a FREE breakfast on April 7 and 8.
The breakfast offer will run from 6 to 9 a.m., and includes an Egg McMuffin®, Apple Slices, and a choice of 1% milk, fat free chocolate milk or a small Minute Maid® orange juice.
Customer requirements for the free breakfast offer include: students must be accompanied by a parent, no group redemption, while supplies last, child must be present for offer and no substitutions.
Come to the Big BOGO Book Fair! We will have books for all ages. You buy one book, and get the second one free of equal or lesser value. Great idea for Easter baskets, summer reading and more. We will be having a drawing for two spring baskets filled with books and other items. You will receive a ticket when you purchase an item at the book fair. Book fair hours are 7 am to 3 pm Monday thru Friday, in the BMS Library (room 8 located behind the office on left side). See you there.

We will be having a Memorial Day assembly on Wednesday, May 21st for our students in honor of our Veterans who have passed away. We are asking for photos of any loved one who has
served in the Military for our video presentation. We ask that you include the name, rank, service, and date of passing, and any other information or story with the photo. Bring to the BMS library, Rm 8. We will make a copy and return the photo to you.

On February 14th BMS ASB will be having their annual Valentine’s Day Dance. The dance will go from 6 pm – 8 pm. Tickets are $3 dollars if you dress in formal attire and $4 dollars if you come casual.
This is an exclusive event for BMS students only. Students must have their dance compact completed and be at school for the entire day to attend.
Lifetouch will be taking Spring Pictures on Thursday, February 27, 2014 in our library (room 8) until about 11:00 am.
Flyers will be sent home with students on Monday, February 24th be sure to ask your child about the flyer when he/she gets home.
Payment is to be given to the photographer when picture is taken.
Winter Intramurals Soccer League has its first practice January 14th, after school. This winter’s league will feature 5 vs. 5 games with no goalies. Students can now sign-up in room 10 during break, lunch and after school. Games and practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:40-3:40 pm. Students must find their own transportation from soccer practice. Please note that the 7th and 8th grade all-star teams, who will play in the stadium, will be selected from the 5 vs. 5 league. Remember that Intramurals soccer is Co-Ed and all 7th and 8th graders are welcomed to play. Blythe Middle School strongly encourages young ladies to sign-up and play Intramural soccer.
Our awards assemblies will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014. The assembly for 7th graders will start at 7:30 am and the 8th graders will be at 8:25 am.
Certificates for Honor Roll and Attendance will be presented. If your child will be receiving a certificate, a letter will be enclosed with his/her first semester report card.
Blythe Middle School will be holding our second Parent-Teacher Conference on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
No appointment is necessary to speak with your child’s teacher.
There will be an ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) Meeting Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in Room 31, Mrs. Red-Smith’s room at 2:30pm after school. If your parents speak Spanish, this is an opportunity to have them come in and listen to what’s happening at BlytheMiddle School.
