Dear Appleby Families, July 24, 2017
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I hope that you are having an awesome summer with lots of time to rest, play, and spend some quality time with your loved ones.
I am honored to be back as the principal here at Felix J. Appleby Elementary School. Although summers are never long enough, I cannot wait to see the staff, the students, and all the families that help us make a difference in our students’ lives. We have been working very hard over the summer to make sure we are ready to offer the best year possible to your student. The teachers and I have attended trainings that will help us better serve our students and improve our teaching practices.
The teachers have put together a supply list for their students. You may pick up the supply list in the school office. Our summer hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. We will start our regular schedule the week of August 7th. We have also made changes to our Parent/Student Handbook. You will receive a copy of the Parent/Student Handbook at our “Back to School Night” event which will take place on Tuesday, August 29th from 6:00-7:00 pm. I hope you can be a part of it! Students will start school on Wednesday, August 16th. The school day starts at 8:25 am and concludes at 3:15 pm and at 12:10 pm on Wednesdays. Class rosters will be posted outside the office on Monday, August 14th at 5:00 pm.
Our school cafeteria will continue to serve free breakfast for all students. Our cafeteria staff will start serving breakfast at 7:30 am. Please do not drop off students before that time, we do not have supervision until 7:30 am.
The staff here at Appleby hope you continue to enjoy the rest of your summer and we cannot wait to see you and your children on Wednesday, August 16th.
